Along with her regular Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine house call appointments, Dr. Bross offers integrative medicine based hospice / palliative care and peaceful passing. . Palliative end of life care with Joy-Chi Veterinary Acupuncture includes an integrative approach of both western medicine and Chinese Medicine, if desired. The goal of palliative care is to maintain quality of life as long as possible until your beloved pet passes on her / his own or until such time as a humane peaceful passing is the kindest option.

- A virtual appointment over Zoom with our doctor to discuss monitoring quality of life as well as discussion of general questions and concerns that do not require a physical exam.Your beloved pet's medical history and veterinary records will be reviewed by our doctor in advance of virtual appointment so that the time can be spent more effectively and better tailored to your current concerns. Medications can not be prescribed without an in-person exam within the past 6 months with one of our doctors.
For weekend and holiday appointments, a $100 fee will apply and for evening appointments (after 5:00 pm), a $100 fee will apply. Additionally, there is an extra charge for extended travel, pets over 99 lbs., aggressive/fractious pets.
Dr. Bross also accommodates aftercare services with a high quality licensed locally owned and trusted pet crematory. Options include private cremation where you, the pet parent, receive cremains returned to you in a wooden urn with a clay paw print impression or no ashes returned and paw print is optional. Prices vary depending on weight of pet and type of cremation desired. Please call or email for price options.
Some pet insurance companies cover the cost of end of life care. Please call your pet insurance company directly to inquire.
For in-home or in-clinic palliative and end of life care, please request an appointment and we'll reach out to you. In the event of an emergency, call your nearest veterinary emergency hospital.
